Defendify was recently featured in the short film “Crunch Time,” which debuted on December 18th, 2019 in Portland, Maine. The screening was a great opportunity for the Portland community to see the tremendous influence and reputation that Maine startups are gaining on the international stage. Startup Maine and Maine Startups Insider have been hard at work getting entrepreneurs from the Pine Tree State on the map by selecting eight startups to attend TechCrunch Disrupt and documenting the experience through a short film.
TechCrunch Disrupt, held October 2-4 in San Francisco, California, is one of the most famous startup conferences in the world, and is home to some of the biggest product unveilings and top names in technology. When Startup Maine realized that no Maine startup had ever attended the conference, they set out to change that. Defendify founders Rob Simopoulos and Andrew Rinaldi arrived at the three-day event proud to showcase the innovative spirit of our home state alongside our peers in the Maine Pavilion of the TechCrunch Startup Alley, where over 1,000 startups displayed their technologies and products.
“Crunch Time” follows the journey of these up-and-coming Maine companies as they pitched, networked, and got inspired throughout the event. The fifteen-minute documentary captures the electric atmosphere of the conference and the way attendees felt surrounded by leading companies in technology along with fast-growing newcomers. The film screening was followed by a forum and panel discussion featuring Defendify Co-Founder Andrew Rinaldi. This panel allowed attendees to learn more about Disrupt and how the Maine community can continue to support our growing startups.
The Defendify Team enjoyed the premier screening event as an opportunity to bring together some of Maine’s greatest startups and entrepreneurs in one room to reflect on the great potential of the state.
