Defendify hosted a cybersecurity awareness workshop for Small Business with SCORE Portland on February 19th in Portland, Maine. Like other workshops put on by the group, it was free to attend and aimed to provide information relevant and useful to Small Business. SCORE Portland is a chapter of SCORE, a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration. They offer free, confidential small business mentorship and workshops, and has helped hundreds of small business owners in Southern Maine start or grow their business.

Co-Founder Rob Simopoulos led the presentation, discussing cybersecurity threats that small businesses face today and simple steps they can take to protect themselves. Rob taught attendees about the various components of a strong cybersecurity posture and how to build an effective, ongoing program with multiple layers of protection. Small businesses are frequently targeted by cyberattacks, but business owners and operators can reduce their risk by educating themselves and knowing where they stand.

Defendify regularly hosts and participates in cybersecurity awareness sessions—for anyone interested in future collaboration, contact Defendify.
